AJRAKH PRINT :


The term Ajrakh is derived from the Arabic word ‘Ajrak’ which means ‘blue’ in Arabic.
Ajrakh is a unique form of woodblock printing which originated in Kutch, Gujarat and has been practice for over 400 years .


Over the years it has become the symbol of Sindhi tradition and culture.
These special designs and patterns are made using block printing with stamps.
The essence of this print comes out with its intricate designs of motifs which symbolize nature.

This form of woodblock printing is done by hand and typically with vegetable and mineral dyes on both the sides.
